For the last 20 years, Rick Jordan has been performing as a live and session, free lance trumpet artist.

Out of school, he became a principle in the 80s era, cutting edge fusion band “Kinesis”. Darren Kramer (trombonist and leader of the acclaimed DKO (Darren Kramer Organization)) once said, “It amazes me how many people don’t know who you are! Every gig we play someone comes up to me and says, “WOW! Who is that guy?“ You truly are the “UNKNOWN TRUMPET PLAYER”!”

When asking Rick about it, he remarked, “You know that joke about the jobbing musician who dies and meets St. Peter at the gate? St. Peter tells him he will be allowed into heaven, but he will have to enter through the kitchen! That’s me. The type of work I do is fairly anonymous. It’s the kind of session work that doesn’t typically get acclaim or list credits. Or, it’s the kind of commercial work that is in the entertainment industry where you are just a jobbing free lancer, part of the entertainment. Part of the whole. Pleasing the crowd. A Sideman!”
